Health officials in Ontario recorded 243 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, the lowest number of new infections since late March. And because of our hard and diligent work, we can move to PHASE 2 of the re-opening of Ontario!
Well done folks!
Twenty-four of Ontario's 34 public health units will be allowed to move into Stage 2 on Friday.
HERE ARE SOME DETAILS:
Regardless of where you live in Ontario, social gathering limits will be expanded to up to 10 people. You must keep six feet away from anyone in that gathering who is outside of your family bubble
Places of Worship can reopen limiting attendance to 30 % of the building's capacity.
Personal care services can re-open with tight restrictions. These include, yep, hair salons, beauty salons, shops and parlours, day spas and tanning salons.
Restaurants and Bars and Drink establishments but outdoor only with physical distancing restrictions still in place.
Water and Recreational facilities, Outdoor recreational facilities, beaches, parks and camping
Malls with restrictions....
The list is long and the rules strict but here is a link to the entire government document with all the details:
Even greater news today: New Zealand is COVID 19 free!
YES IT IS POSSIBLE
I had another visit from the COVID Grandmother Group today. In total, this group has donated $540. To Michelle, Norine, Antonella, Guiseppina, Lilliana, Imelda, Gina, Nella, Debbie, Luigia, Enrica, Maria, Irene, Bertilla, Angela and Maria, thank you. That's twenty-seven of you that donated over the last 5 days; all friends, all connected. That's quite a powerful network of women.
We have such great power when we work together for the good of all.
Happy re-opening Ontario. But remember, in the words of our Medical Office of Health, Dr. Nicola Mercer: “This is a positive step for our region. Cautiously reopening more amenities and businesses means positive economic and physical health benefits for our citizens; both factors in good health. But "we must remain diligent in preventing the spread of COVID-19.
We all must continue to wash our hands, wear a mask and practice physical distancing of two metres. Following these steps will help keep you and your family safe, but also protect your friends and neighbours. The willingness of each of us to do our part will be a key factor in whether we take a step forward or backward in this pandemic.”

We can do this, carefully, cautiously but fearlessly. Wear a cloth mask in public. Do not wear gloves, they increase the risk of spread of the virus and add to the toxic stuff in our oceans and landfills
Congrats!
